Tobago Alliance for Resilient Communities

Building Tobago's resilience for a changing climate.

About TARC

Founded in Charlotteville, Tobago in 2021, the Tobago Alliance for Resilient Communities (TobagoARC) is a registered non-profit NGO whose mission is to empower communities of Tobago and beyond to build resilience to climate change, enhance livelihoods through education and research, and promote healthy living in harmony with the natural environment. Its vision: a world where planet, people, and prosperity endure in perpetuity.

TARCo's work centres on community enterprise and environmental stewardship. Landmark projects include the Charlotteville Cocoa Yard, a bean-to-bar eco-tourism hub reviving a 32-acre historic estate, and a breadfruit campaign promoting food security across Tobago. TARCo also leads marine conservation events such as the annual Lionfish Derby and World Ocean Day beach cleanups, and has documented northeast Tobago's UNESCO Man and Biosphere reserve.

WEPTT's partnership with TARC strengthens conservation coordination across the twin-island republic, ensuring that Tobago's unique biodiversity is represented in national environmental advocacy.
