Injured Baby Bird Brought to WEPTT After Nest Destroyed

Can you guess what species she is? Our latest patient came after its nest was ejected from the tree that it was in as the tree fell over. After trying to place her in a safe place and hoping the mom came back to her, she was unfortunately left alone as the mother didn't attend to her, possibly thinking she was dead.

The rescuers who found her contacted us today and brought her to the center. They did the right thing by trying to get the mom to take her baby back but we always advise people to call us when they encounter these animals so we can also monitor the situation and take action as necessary.

She was brought in dehydrated and emaciated after not eating for over 24 hours where the mom would usually feed them every 2-4 hours. We will keep you updated as she progresses.
